Ashim Das
Before his accident, motorcycles were Ashim’s life. As a young man, Ashim was a motorcycle mechanic by trade and also owned his own bike. One day riding through the hectic streets of Bangladesh, Ashim fell off the back of his motorcycle. His leg was mangled in the accident, and doctors were forced to amputate his right leg.
He wore Jaipur limbs for several years. While he was able to move around on the limb, the heaviness of the limb caused Ashim to develop bad gait habits.
Ashim has worn a knee with the LIMBS Knee since 2008. He uses the limb around 8 hours a day, walking two kilometers to and from his job as a watchmaker. He is happy with the increased mobility the LIMBS Knee provides him, and he maintains a very positive outlook on life.
