Emmanuel Risa

Emmanuel Risa lost his right limb in 2002 during a fire when he was only 14 years old. When the rest of his family went to retrieve water, he stayed home. While he was alone, he suffered an epileptic seizure, and knocked over the oil lamp in his house. By the time Emmanuel's family returned, their house had burned down, and Emmanuel had suffered massive burns all over his body. He lost his right leg, and his left knee became fused, unable to bend at all. Even with a single axis Jaipur Knee, he had great difficulty walking, since his left knee would not bend. In 2009, he showed up at AIC-Cure in Kijabe, having heard about the LIMBS Knee. He was fitted with a knee in October of 2009, and has regained some of the mobility that was taken from him in the fire.
