Hector Castellanos from Guadalajara has had a history with illnesses that caused him to lose his legs. He describes his experience: “The first leg I lost because of atrophy of valves and veins, derived from diabetes. When I was amputated, my veins were left as an open wound. Because I didn’t take care of the wound, it began to become gangrenous, the leg was badly damaged. Shortly afterwards I had a prosthesis, which I started to use. However, more and more relapses and another strong infection caused me to just lay in bed, I had the misfortune to lose my second leg. Now that I'm back and under care, I want to use prosthetics again, even if it's a big challenge. It has been a difficult route since they are two new prosthetics and I have to accept that I am happy for the challenge that comes with it. I'm feeling like I need therapy in order to walk. Many thanks to those who make this great dream possible, and will do everything to achieve it.
