Juan Pereles
Juan Perales worked as a construction worker in Guadalajara, Mexico. On an early morning in 1998, Juan went to work as usual. Unfortunately, this morning would prove to be anything but normal. While working on the side of a road, a car drove too close to the construction site and slammed into Juan. His coworkers that witnessed the accident rushed to his side and took him to the nearest hospital. After the doctors looked at his leg, they soon realized that there was not much they could do to save his leg, and an amputation soon followed.
For 18 years, Juan managed through his life with poorly fit leg systems. Soon, Juan wanted to become better for himself. He made his way to a clinic that was partnering with LIMBS. He was refit for a new prosthesis. After physical therapy, Juan now has a new job moving furniture for people in his area. "I appreciate all the support that has been given to me." |
