Kismatali
Kismatali was just 31 years old when he lost his leg to cancer in 2011. His doctors decided to amputate his leg to keep the disease from spreading. To support his family, he works in construction applying drywall and stucco. His job requires long hours on his feet and he knew he needed a leg that would provide dependable stability and support. He was initially fitted with a locked-knee system that provided the needed stability. However, it was very uncomfortable when he walked and he did not have a normal gait.
That all changed when he was fitted with the LIMBS leg, which not only allows his leg to swing freely during walking, but also provides the stability he needs to do his job...even when it requires him to climb ladders! He is especially appreciative of the manual locking option on the knee that can be engaged for those long hours of standing during the day. |
